February 3, 2019 - Taras Shevchenko Ukrainian School & UAWA Picnic

 A glorious summer day and a great crowd made this Picnic a very special event with an estimated 80 people (over the course of the day) enjoying the LotteriesWest Family and Playground Area. We found a large Moreton Bay Fig tree early in the morning and this was a great choice for it provided us with adequate shade from 10am to 4pm.

Alex and Karen Balla donated peaches from a Kalamunda orchard which proved to be a hit with everyone and Myk & Gabby Mowczan donated buns, sausages, onions and buns for the "sausage sizzle".  Thanks to Alex Balla, Wally Perzylo and Myk Mowczan for being the chefs and cooking up the sausages and onions.

Thanks to everyone who also bought food to share, there was definitely plenty for everyone.

Thanks to Simone Litwin who entertained the children with many games and dances.

We look forward to seeing all the young children in school which starts February 9 at West Leederville Primary School , 58 Northwood Street, West Leederville

Due to the success of the event, UAWA looks forward to hosting another picnic in March (details to be announced via email and social media soon....)
